在作因此讲的时候，这三个其实老外都有些分不清的。如果你是对自己要求严格的人，有必要继续往下看。只为了过考试，三个混用没事，不用浪费时间。但是注意hence作因此时不但可以是连词，还可以是副词，引导名词短语，以下有距离说明。

侧重点之不同

thus

Thus 表示的是后面的事是前面提及的事的结果。着重的是预想的结果。

• It is raining, and thus you don’t have to go to school. ——预想的结果
• 下雨了，所以你不用去上学了。
• You do not have the evidences. Thus it is impossible for you to convict him shoplifting. ——预想的结果
• 你没有证据，所以无法给他以盗窃商店定罪。

therefore

Therefore同样表示后面的事是前面提及的事的结果，等同于for the reason that。它更倾向于逻辑的结果。

• You drank. Therefore, you shouldn’t drive. ——逻辑结果
• 你喝酒了，所以不能开车。
• He is experienced, and therefore the best candidate for the vacancy. ——逻辑结果
• 他有经验，所以是空缺职位的最好人选。

hence

Hence 表示的是也是后事是前事的结果，但是它的着重点是鉴于前事。

• I have known her for many years, hence we are not strangers. ——鉴于
• 鉴于我认识她多年，我和她不算陌生人。
• I like her very much, hence the need for making her my wife. ——鉴于
• 鉴于我很喜欢她，我有娶她的心思。
